Lumpsum + SIP Investment Calculator

Use this calculator to estimate the total returns from a SIP (Systematic Investment Plan) combined with a lump sum investment over a specific period. It calculates the future value (FV) by combining both investment types.

FV = P(1 + r/n)nt + PMT x [((1 + r/n)nt - 1) / (r/n)]

  • P: Lumpsum (initial investment)
  • PMT: Contribution per compounding period (SIP)
  • r: Annual interest rate (decimal)
  • n: Times interest is compounded per year
  • t: Number of years
  • FV: Future value (total amount)

Example:
Invest lumpsum of $5,000 at 6% annual interest, compounded quarterly (n=4), with a monthly SIP of $100 for 5 years:

P = 5000, r = 0.06, n = 4, t = 5, PMT = 100 x 12 / 4 = 300
FV = 5000(1 + 0.06/4)20 + 300 x [((1 + 0.06/4)20 - 1) / (0.06/4)]
FV = $6,734.28 (lumpsum) + $6,937.10 (SIP)

Lump sum grows to: $6,734.28
SIP grows to: $6,937.10
Total Future Value: $13,671.38

This formula helps you estimate the total value of your investment, combining both one-time(lumpsum) and recurring(sip) contributions.
