What is a Rectangle ?

A rectangle is a four-sided polygon with opposite sides equal in length and all angles being right angles (90 degrees). Unlike a square, a rectangle does not necessarily have all sides of equal length. The lengths of the adjacent sides are often denoted as length and width.

The formula for calculating the perimeter (P) of a rectangle is given by:

P = 2 x (l+w)

where:

  • A is the perimeter of the square
  • l is the length of the rectangle
  • w is the width of the rectangle

To find the perimeter of a rectangle, you add the length and width and then multiply by 2.
